Yellow tang eye color change
Has anyone else noticed that when a yellow tang is excited (fresh nori) or upset(hand in tank) the yellow ring around there pupil turns brown?
Mine gets crazy happy when his yellow corris wrasse...

For the lighting on this tank I plan on using 2x 165w china black box led's. And I just got a great deal on a 48" sunblaster T5HO fixture that came with a broken 6400k bulb(not a reef bulb anyway). ...

I got a used BM7 for my 90 gallon, did a vinegar bath scrubbed it clean. After putting in the the sump with dial on "max" it began to overflow right away. Did some more googling and found that a drop...

slowly opening again
Well it is very slowly opening up again. I think it will take a few weeks, but it looks a lot better already. The anemone crab in the sump is just hiding and not actively filter feeding or anything....

Copepod bloom
My tank is still cycling and I added some copepods a few days ago just to see how they would handle the ammonia. There are now loads of them all over the glass and rockwork. I'm having a hard time...

PH was always stable Cal & Alk were always low but became less and less as I came closer to the magic kalk number.
Everything has been stable for around 2mo now
