LF - Frag Tank Light - Calgary

I'm hoping to find a used light for my 36" 30 gallon frag tank. A G1 or G2 Radion, an AI Sol with controller, or even a 4 bulb 36" T5 fixture. I'm pretty sure I've looked through most of the ads but...

I can't recall but it's not far. With no auto focus a tripod and focus rail is a must. At 5X magnification you can literally fill the frame with a single letter of fine newspaper text.

It's a fun...

I have an almost coast to coast overflow with a bean animal style drain on it. The only thing I would change is to make it external. Very quiet and trouble free.

Adding refugium to sump

I've found that a fuge works best if the turnover is quite low (less than 10 times the volume per hour) and if you feed it dirty water (straight from the tank is the dirtiest). Each sump is different...

LEDs and electricity savings

My fish told me they would run away if I took away their Mitras. And take their corals with them!

I have lots of other reasons to use LEDs but the main one for me is the ramping up and down and...

I'll help you set it up if you like. Some parts can be complicated but only if you make them. For light timing, temp control, feed cycles, and other standard features it is pretty simple.

Just...

Auto Top Off styles??

That's essentially what I do, very low risk, easy to use, and not many parts.

To cause a flood the solenoid would need to fail on AND the float valve would need to fail at the same time. That...

I would say ATO sensors screw up just as often as float valves. When is the last time your toilet tank violently overflowed? Even at city pressure 24/7.

The timer is the safety factor that keeps...

I just took my refugium offline in favor of a frag tank and biopellets but left the sand and LR rubble in the tank. It is a 36", 30 gallon so there is plenty of good live stuff to spare if you're...

Auto Top Off styles??

I have seen many versions of ATOs and they all seem to work just fine, I just don't get why people go to this expense for a complicated solution. I simply use float valves off my RO/DI and I wonder...
