I swapped one of my Blue Waves out for a Fiji purple--now have 2 Super Blues, 1 FP and 1 BW on my actinic lighting. Made all the difference in the world for coral colors and no algae problems at all.

Sounds like a deadly mixture. I wouldn't believe anything you hear about products like this. Throw a piece of shrimp in the tank and it will kick start your cycle. Much more reliable than this 3 Day...

12" might be a bit shallow for koi, 24" would be better. My backyard pond is about 15' X 9', maximum 38" deep and about 1400gal. Right now i have 4 smaller koi and 10 goldfish. All overwintered fine...
