I have hundreds upon hundreds of pods living in my current tank (180g) would it be a safe move to add a small refugium to the tank and begin the tank by adding several hundred pods into the system...

Thnx for the advice I was looking at the tank being around 30g so that's great news. Do they actually eat the caularpa or it it just for them to hang onto and for pods to thrive in?

It's not that bad, I doubt even those running ro di are changing filters at 2ppm but if your not goin to shoot for 0 ppm 13 ppm out of the tap isn't really that extreme either.

Do I need a refugium or will live rock and pod supplementing from my 180g be enough to keep them happy? I ask because a fuge will be hard to fit into the tv concept.

The tank would be about 20" tall with just cheap led lighting, maybe just enough to grow softies. I guess that would mean I would need some fake branching stuff.
