I am envisioning a sort of log splitter arrangement with a vice or a set of clamps with one end having a sharp edge to cleave the rock. You just keep tightening until the rock splits.

I got a turkey baster at the dollar store and stuck a length of tubing on the end of it. The only problem is the tubing is not perfectly stiff and curves a bit. Sometimes that works in your favour...
