Yeah, I think if you were to raise them up some you would have good intensity for SPS from the middle of the tank up and could keep lower-light corals on the bottom.

My old fixture used to be like that. This one dissipates the heat really well. 3x400W MH with 8x39W T5 and the temp never exceeds 80 except in summer when I need a few fans to keep it below 81

Fans are a little noisy, but only have them on in August, Sept. My fixture does however, make a loud cracking sound when it cools down. Sounds just like glass breaking. Even though I know what it is...
