That someone would be me :(. I've got two new pumps, but haven't put them in water yet. It's strange that only one other person had their shaft break, and it happened to me twice!
Other than...

No Pressure from New CO2 Tank
I'd like to thank Titus for coming by to take a look at the problem (it was a new canreef reactor). Of course, Murphy Law set in, and when he put it on, bingo it worked fine.
I'm extremely...

No Pressure from New CO2 Tank
Hi Steve,
The tank valve is counter clockwise to open, and the regulator is clockwise to open. They're both labeled, and I've also tried both directions just to be sure

No Pressure from New CO2 Tank
I just filled a brand new 10 lb co2 tank, and installed the regulator. The tank valve is on full, and even after turning the regulator on full, I'm getting no pressure reading at all.
The...

Reeftec Pump
Hi Keith,
It depends on what animals you keep. If it's for softies, I think two PE1's would be enough. If you keep mainly sps, I'd go for the PE2's.
Even with the pe1's, you'll get...

Believe me, unless your tank is over 4' long, the PE1's are enough. The water pressure even at about 9" is a little too strong for my millipora if not on a...

Reeftec Pump
Hi Keith,
I got the pump at Groundwater Hydrolics in Vancouver, their number is 604-254-0616.
The pumps aren't cheap, the PE1 is about $90 and the PE2 is $145.
For the extra 16% that Jimmy...

Steve,
I don't quite understand...is this not your own house? Why wouldn't you be able to loose power on that line for a day while you do this?

I'm an architect so I know a little bit about structures. Cutting the such a deep notch will weaken the joist greatly...if you notch a 2x10 halfway through, you're essentially left with a...

Hello,
Tank circulation like many variables (ie. temp., calcium, lighting hours, water changes, etc.) are highly debated. You'll hear many say there should be 5-10 changes per hour (5-10 times...
