just put a ball valve on the output of the return pump and dial it back that way...actually a bit of backpressure on a pump sometimes helps it be more quiet

Also, if in the long run I decide I want more lights, I'll probably just pick up a 4 foot 2 bulb fixture from them as well...the 2 units cost less than any other 6 bulb unit I"ve seen and will fit...
