If the equipment is poorly made or not...

If the equipment is poorly made or not functioning correctly itll trip it sure. Just like a poorly made or not functioning gfci may trip. I always use em on my tanks and never have an issue.

Thats a ton of flow for a small sump. Your skimmer definately wont process anywhere near that and your refugium will be more like a typhoon. I know people like to size return pumps to display tanks...

Out of curiousity... Why clear? If your plumbing a reactor or something your better off with black. Clear will promote algae growth inside the tube and require more maintenance.
