probably coraline (sp?) algae. It comes in all sorts of colors, try a google search and see if thats it. It is a good thing, a sign of a healthy tank.

water change was probably a good idea. It may be acclimatization stress as well. Did you measure the sg of the stores water by any chance? Sometimes the stores keep a really low specific gravity...

brown spots can be normal in clownfish. They normally come from stings from anemones and corals. As long as it's eating and active it should be nothing to worry about.

no, it won't release toxins, but will foul the tank as it decomposes. Do a water change and check your ammonia and nitrates.
