Green brittle stars can be very predatory. They have been known to eat just about anything they can get there hands on.

I've had mine for about 8 years or so and it is now somewhere close to 3...

Some Speedy Autoglass outlets will drill tanks for about $20.

You can make an overflow box pretty cheaply yourself. Get some acrylic from a plastics or glass shop.
