Depends how much water you go through and TDS of source but I change pre-filters every 6 months and di once it starts creeping up. Got around 5 years from my last membrane before my rejection rolled...

I had tried similar to warm the source water for the ro unit. Thought higher temperature better rejection rate, don't think it did anything so removed, plastic not being the best for heat transfer....
