Spoon shaped claws indicate some type mithrax crab (emerald crabs are part of the family ) . I got a whole bunch of them from some liverock and they got to a decent size but where model citizens .

With the availability of ready made ,full spectrum led fixtures at reasonable prices i dont see why people would DIY there own anymore . Lots of people have sps led reefs with ebay lights now.

It sounds like the brand new bulb "burned in" they change color from the fist light up to their actual color . All new bulbs take a few days to settle into their intended color and the second picture...
