micro bubbles help needed

ok we got the 75 changed over to our 77 drilled with the over flow going directly into the protien skimmer and seems to be pulling out great amount of smelly gunk...the pic is the amount of gunk in 2 days ..now the problem is we have a lot of tiny micobubbles going into the tank from the return pump about 25 times a day and wondering how we can solve this thanks for the replys

Is the skimmer draining into a sump with baffles?

novascotiagrl 03-07-2009 02:10 AM

yes I forget to metion that the skimmer is running into a sump with baffles its a 33 gallon sump with area for the skimmer to run into then small fug air bubble trap then pump for return section
thanks

You could use a small micron bag on the output of the skimmer, that would clear it up if you have the space/setup for it.

Yep, filter socks do more than just filter.

you mean you get a shot of bubbles ever so often? not constantly.

novascotiagrl 03-07-2009 04:37 AM

yes a shot of bubbles every so often its not on a constant basis

It doesn't sound like a baffle issue, what is the set up like, got pics of the return pump back to the tank?

novascotiagrl 03-07-2009 06:52 AM

ok just got a new pic... everything in the tank wasn't happy with turning the lights on for a few min but they will get over it
