That an R/O shutoff float valve in the top there?

I'm so sorry, what was I thinking.

Whether you use the float shut off or the Profilux sensors to shut off the flow...I would also tap an overflow drain on the tank if you can. No harm in having an absolute overflow failsafe in place if you can.

I agree with Brad. Not to mention you don't want to ruin the living room.
Did you use uniseals on the garbage can? I'm not familiar with mounting to curved surfaces but it seems like a risky thing no? |
I have a float for my sump ( not installed yet ) and I was going to use two redundant control valves to be operated by my Apex. I have no access to an drain in case of an overflow so I'm a bit worried about it. I have been topping off manually till I get it all hooked up.

So a little bit of an update of sorts I guess. So I've used Seachems reefers salt for several years so I decided to step it up a bit and go to their high end mix, Salinity. I've mixed a couple of batches now for my current system and really like the readings so far. They've been bang on to their claims. It mixes relatively nice so no complaints so far and mixes about 225g's. A little pricey so here in Calgary you have to watch, found price differences of over $30 from one LFS to another.

But the carrying strap did come off on one side of the bucket while I was carry it while it was still full, so I'm not sure if this is a common problem. Not fun especially with how heavy it was. http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_1610.jpg |
And now the best part a little surprise
http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_1613.jpg ...a new skimmer - Vertex Alpha 200. Now I hope that it is going to be big enough as I was thinking of the 250, but was told this will easily handle what I'm after (but someone else on here was told the same thing and it didn't work out so I guess I'll see) http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_1614.jpg the pump http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_1617.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...IMG_1616-1.jpg love the quility of this thing... http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_1618.jpg http://i486.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_1619.jpg |
This is looking very nice, love the tank width and the skimmer looks great, looking forward to the next instalment.....

Forgot about this thread. We want UPDATES!

You devil  I'll try to take some pic's of stuff. Having issues with my Profilux not powering on at the moment so this is keeping me amused, so I'm in the middle of bugging Kien at the moment :)

While I'm at it...your sig. 33 gal sumpless. I'm always thinking...sumples...that's a sorta fairy-like nickname for a man's sump. This is serious bizz man lol.

MP40 or Closed Loop
What about both, I use both in my tank and althoughsmall compared to what you are looking at doing it woudl certainly give you plenty of flow, something my tanks definitely has.
Looking forward to the build:biggrin: |
