I also have a red dragon 1200 gph pump which by far the most quietest realiable pump I have ever used, unfortunately it is on the expensive side around a thousand for the pump. I never had a chance to use any tunze pumps except for wave box and ph, I found them to be on the noisier side but don't quote me on it.

I totally agree with you on the Eheim 1262 which is an excellent pump and my first choice for 900gph and under. They are quiet, efficient and last for years I hear. Due to needing more gph I recently bought a ATB Flowstar 1800 pump for my 180gal and its even more quiet than the Eheim if you can believe it, but a bit more $$ than the Eheim.

Exact same motor blocks as the Red Dragon and ATB pumps except with different volutes. They are cheaper to buy than the RD and ATB pumps but a bit more noiser from what I have heard.

I have the Tunze 1073.020 (slightly less powerful than the one you are asking about). Only had running for 6 months but have had no problems. Very quiet.
