Hi Guys,
Anyone know where I can find a good deal on "Salinity" Salt? For the big pales, I'm paying about $100-$109 right now.

I don't think it will go any lower than $99 since that's most probably the set price by Aquavirto. Its an expensive salt after all and doesn't come in sale (like ecotech stuffs)

I read it mixes cloudy and leaves some residue behind. What are your observations?

that has been my experience with it as well. I'm not sure if that's really a problem but I just didn't like it :-)

I mixed a bucket and tested it the other day. Calcium was at 483, Alk 6.9 PH 8.4. I used RO/Di water but no buffer that was recommended when using salinity with Ro water.
I am going to mix up another fresh bucket today after rolling it around a bit and see what readings I get.
Since I have started the bucket, my coral growth has been noticeable in just a few water changes.
I don't like the parameter swings though. not sure if it is because I am not using a buffer to help stablize it with the Ro water or what. A day or so after a water change my Calc readings are 400 alk 8.4 ph 7.8
I havent noticed a residue or cloudy water.

Just curious, are you using a doser? If not your levels are bound to swing. ROcks and corals suck your elements out. Coralline lives Ca!
Just my thoughts as salt won't maintain the levels on its own.
You probably knew this already but I can't assume.
Also do you let you mix settle or aerate for 24hrs? H2Ocean recommends it and maybe yours does too. It ensures it actually mixed and everything dissolved.

I do realize it will swing some. No I don't use a doser. I have been trying to avoid that becuase it is a small tank and I am still figuring things out in the hobby.
as for letting it stand it depends, most of the time it sits for a day or so with a pump and heater in the jug. Others I mix it and use it that day. A lot of the time I use whats pre mixed in my water container and mix the rest during my water change. I have very little space to deal with and a house that is at least 2 rooms to small with 3 kids so, it all depends on the day lol.

Ya I used this product from day number one for a few years already and haven't had any problems but never tried other salts so its hard for me to compare.

I use this salt exclusively and never had a problem with it.

I get cloudy mix when I mix the salt in a hurry and in warm water. But with 1cup/30mins in 5 gallon at room temperature tap water produces clear mix within an hour and I mix for like 12 hours before using it. And I don't use any heater.
