I can't vote since I haven't installed mine yet, but once I do, it will be on all night.

I ran all night for a week but I noticed the alge in mt tank and I thought it might be because of moonlights !

Doubt that a lot :) A single blue LED isn't going to grow algae.

I only have mine on for a few hours in the late evening and then a few hours in the early morning. I have mine on more because I like the look during the hours the main lights are not on.

No moonlights.. my refugium pollutes my DT with light in the night time... so i guess that counts?

Such a double ended candle question. I keep mine on all night cause it's easier.

I have it on as a night light so I won't stumble off my stairs at night.

When I started leaving moonlights ON for first couple days the Corals tentacle was not out for feed at night but last not I saw my candycane tentacle was out but not my lubo and brian.

Keep mine on for a couple of hours. I know its for effect...thinking that having some hours of darkness is also beneficial for corals..with those that tend to night feed..not really sure if the LED affects this or not

12 LED's turn On just before the actinic goes off. Turn Off in the AM - around 7am.

Curious, why do you keep them on all night

Curious, why do you keep them on all night

I leave mine on all night so I can always have a peak at what's going on no matter when it is. Moon lights use hardly any power, my fish still disappear for the night with them on or off and corals behave the same either way as well. The corals that feed at night start doing so when photosynthesis stops and moon lights don't have enough power for corals to start photosynthesis. You may or may not get things to spawn with moon lights but the only reason I use them is just so I can see what goes on in my tank at night and it is very different than the day and just as interesting in its own right.

except when im sleeping.. they are always on, so off for like 6-7 hrs.

since i notice the fish are active a lot when i have them on. plus in real life the moon isnt out every day of the month. hence lunar cycle controllers, but i guess it aint nature in your tank..
