i have this pain in the ass fern type of algae growing from my live rock and nothing while get rid of it except for removing rock and scrubbing with scrub brush. this stuff grows quite quickly and chokes out everything else. is there any other suggestions on how to get rid of this stuff other than getting rid of the rock pieces it is growing on.

I've had that stuff all over my tank before too. I had it for about 2 months. I never bothered pulling the rock out, but I just plucked out as much as I could every couple days. Then I started doing 4gal water changes every day (120gal tank) and in about 3 weeks the stuff burned itself out and disappeared.

Good luck!

Here is some reading on this guys experiencehttp://www.globaldialog.com/~jrice/algae_page/bryopsis.htm Very hard if not impossible to get rid of. Hot water does kill it
