Is it safe to remove the middle bar at the top of a bow? I had messaged some people regarding some mH lights, but now that I think of it I can't put on a mH (a single) with the bar right where the light should be--it would melt or just plain be in the way. Thing after thing.... *grumble*

I wouldnt remove it....the one on my 72 gallon bow front snapped....the front bowed out so much i thought there was going to be a disaster...luckily I had a pipe clamp big enough to squeeze it together. It must have moved out at least 2 inches.

I wouldnt remove it unless you replace it with a piece of glass euro-style. My suggestion would be to find a dual MH fixture or go T5. I had the same problem with my 46 bow- I solved it by getting a 72 bow with a dual 250 MH.
