I didn't make it before the lights went out so here's a couple a recent acquisitions under actinics. Sorry if they're a bit grainy, my camera is getting old.

Wow those are great photos. How big are your new additions? Were they from a local reefer?

I second the call for a full tank shot.

Thanks everyone. The new additions were from a local reefer; Kaboom. He has an amazing tank, and was just thinning out a few corals before moving. Both new corals are about 5".

The pics above were taken under 2x 39 watt T5 true German actinics. Here's a full tank shot under just the actinics, and one with the hadlides on.

Wow!

What do you use for your lighting, and how is it configured? It looks great! The colors just pop under actinics, and look just as great under what I'm assuming are MHs.

I only overhauled the tank not too long ago, so I still see a lot of ground to make up as far as coral color is concerned, but I do appreciate the nods.

Catherine, I use 1 400 watt 12K Reeflux MH, & 2 German T5 actinics (39 watt) They're all running parallel with the length of the tank.

WOW, I am using the regular geismann actinics. I think I need to make a change.

I noticed a 200% color increase in my corals after only 10 days with these T5's. Of course that number is only my none scientific observation, but you get the picture.

Awesome Tank Danny,

What is the exact brand name of those actinics and where'd you get 'em if you remember? Mine are coming due in a month or so and I'd love to try those ones out. That Candy cane looks familiar  My copy is doing awesome btw.

The actinics are made by geismann but they are the true actinics, I believe they peak at around 420 Nm. Well worth the few extra bucks they cost per bulb IMO.

How often do you replace your bulbs?

I've only had the actinics for about 4 months now so I'm not sure when i'll replace them. the MH gets replaced anually though.
