Tell me about what you use for flow and don't forget to tell me what size/shape you tank is.

standard 90 gallon tank, overflow box in left hand back corner. Wavebox next to overflow box, water travels left to right in tank. 2 Tunze 6060s in back right corner of tank one (lower) travels right to left towards overflow box position, the other (upper) travels diagonally across tank to wavebox position.

standard 120g w/dual overflows. 1 tunze 6080 on each side controlled by an acjr. 60 min on/60 off with 20 min overlap for good chaotic flow.

120gal (48x24x24) w/corner overflow, 2x6100 stream w/controller and a tunze wavebox. I am thinking about adding another stream in the future when the corals get more dense.

I'm still in the process of setting up my tank....

40G (36x18x16) back left external overflow with a front left return.

Will have a vortech under the return most likely.

I have a 50 gal with 2 seio M1100 and a OM sea squirt with a poseidon PS3
pump as a closed loop.

36" x14"x24" 60Gal tank.
WaveBox+ 6100 Tunze and will have tunze nano 6055 when they are avaliable on the multy controller.
6100 is going at 100% behind the rocks and blowing all debris out to the front and up, so skimmer picks it up nicely.
my ORP got abot 150 points up after i removed sand bed and moved 6100 to the bottom back corner.
I have one incrusting SPS about 12" away from the 6100 (@ 100%= 3100 gal /hr)
and it loves it !
I am ulternating 6100Tunze with the wave box every 15 minutes.
i like this set up a lot and white moon light that comes with it also great because it gives real moon cycle and gliters at night.

Jeez - I am going to have to break this down a bit

230g with 2 tunze 6100 on a controller with a closed loop run by a mag 9. Dual overflow and standard return from a 77g sump/fuge

190g with back overflow 2 Tunze 6100's on a controller. Closed loop run by a Sequence Hammerhead through an Ocean Motions 4 way - then split for 8 returns. Standard 90g sump/fuge with return a Quiet one 4000 (I think)

110g cube with a 40g sump. Not sure what the return pump is but it is external. Closed loop split 4 ways and again I can't remember what the pump is. Also a Tunze 6000.

20g nano with a maxi jet 900 and a tunze nano stream - I think it is the 6025.

12g nano with a maxi jet 900

10g nano with a maxi jet 900

Whew I'm going to my support group now.............:silly: :rainbowa: :puppydog:

120 gallon with nothing for flow besides the Mag 12 return split into two return pipes. It is a mixed tank softies/LPS/anemones/sps.

I had a 6060 stream, it was too much flow, it blew my colt right over.

I had a Seio but stopped using it.

I would get some decent flow devices (? Korallia) except my four RBTA's would probably commit suicide.

145g (70x20x24H) mixed reef, 75g basement sump.

CL is Dart (3600gph) with OM 4-way (2" inlet/4-1" returns). Sump return is Iwaki 70RLT (with head getting ~1000gph) through single 1". Sump is fed by 2-2" drains with overflows on each side.

I have a 78 gal rectangular. righthand overflow. 1 rio 20 hf split 3 ways through locline. Softies and LPS... rio flows approx 900gph

Using Tunze Nanostreams & Hydor Koralia4 right now in my 220g reef.

180 gal (48x28x32) Dart on a closed loop with 4 returns, PCX-40 for a return, and a 6100 on a controller with plans too add another 6100 on a branch adapter)

Trilinearmipmap I have a 90 with a mag 12 return a 1 inch split to 2 - 3/4 split to 4 1/2 inch . I added 2 H.K. #1 one to each side. Just the right amount of flow for my plate corals ,clams and donuts. Still using sugar ?

75g (48x18x20) - 4xMJ12 on wavemaker, one in each corner, left side and right sides are together and pointed at each other to get the "back and forth" effect.

110g (30x30x30) - 2xStream6100 on multicontroller, left and right, alternating to the "back and forth" effect. Plus a serious amount of flow from the sump return (I don't recommend this approach at all, don't make your sump return a main source of water flow in the tank).

In my opinion, cube tanks suck to get a good flow pattern happening because there just isn't enough length of tank to get a good wash going. For every drop (so to speak) of water that goes one way, there's a drop going the other way.

I'm going to be moving my streams into my 280g if/when that ever happens, in which case I'll either change the cube into a Seio on a Wavysea waving back and forth to get the "back and forth" effect. Or I might just put two 802 powerheads on a wavemaker.

Or I might just tear the tank down, I haven't quite decided what I want to do with it yet.

40g (24x24x12), 4 powerheads (2 MJ12, 2 Hagen 301's), on wavemakers plus SCWD on sump return. Not too bad of an alternating pattern but again kind of hard to get a really good pattern going on account of the weird shape of the tank.

Right now I have 2 MJ1200 & 1 JBJ ?? in the tank. I'm trying to get a idea of what works well for people for when I get my Cube going. I was planning on a closed loop but as Tony said they can be a pain because of their shape. So I might have to be creative.

I have a line on a Dart (3600 GPH) for the closed loop, and I was thinking of having the returns come through the eurobracing. Maybe I'll acquire a 4 way controller for it. Any thoughts?

Cube with OM 4-way bottom drilled, here (http://www.oceansmotions.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=603)

currently my 60gal just has 2 x MJ 1200. Its a little on the low side because it has a frogfish and will have a lion. both of which require lower flow.

I run my 8gal biocube with a stock pump (106gph i think), but i may upgrade to an MJ600.

Closed loop on my 250 is to be controlled by two true union rebuildable ball valves on continuous rotation spun by disco ball motors at 3rpm. Cost was half of an OM 4way and allows me to run 1-1/2" piping throughout. I also have a damper motor to controll the overall flow which I plan to connect to the moonlight output of my Aq. controller to vary the intensity automatically.

I'm running a closed loop with an Ampmaster pump, an OM 4-way and OM Revolution nozzles.

Your setup is cool, but could be a bit on the pricey side, we'll see. How is the maintainence of the OM 4 way and the OM revolution nozzels?

I run 3 lines off my return (not on purpose but the biulder drilled too many holes) 2 of the return lines are on Wavyseas and the 3rd is just straight. I then have a closed loops system with a Ocean motion 4-way. the 4-way runs; left and right side of the tank open together (2 outputs per side) then top front and bottom rear open together (4 outputs per).

400 gallon 6 foot by 4 foot.

Two Dart powered closed loops, each running through OM4ways to outlets on the back and bottom of the tank.

4 outlets on the lower back wall, one outlet close to each corner on the bottom to the tank.

Dart powered sump return also provides pretty good flow through 2 x 1" returns that run over the back wall and deliver water pretty much straight down the back wall.
