about to add caribsea sand to my tank do i rinse it with just tap water? just add it in without washing? ordo i need to use ro water?

rince with RO/DI if you have it. If not treated tap water, with something like Prime, should work well enough.

After your done rinsing it with either Ro/Di, or treated tap water as stated above. Make sure you do a final rinse with salt water at the correct salinity. I added a bunch of sand a while ago, making sure that I rinsed it really good. When I added the sand to the tank, I forgot about the added freshwater. Luckily, I only added a few pounds of sand, but my S.G. went down pretty quick. :redface:

no worries my tank is not set up yet all my lr is sitting in a seperate brute can.

I could be beneficial to wash it thrugh the strainer when i had mine sand washed i had found metal wires in it , you may or may not have it but it worth a shot
