I'd burn her computer & rip out her internet connection. Holy smokes. She puts all other shoppers to shame.

I wonder if she's been diagnosed? He doesn't mention anything about mental illness or doctors...

You know what I'm thinking? A few sheets of plywood and she could put a large shed in the back yard and move some boxes in there... Maybe have a shower or lay in bed..
That's pretty frightening. I think an intervention is called for, and I think I'm not going to hesitate to sell half the crap in my closet on eBay that I was just going to throw out.
This is a kindof old posting -- whipped 'round the Net a few years back. The original forum (http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=830487&perpage=40&pagenumber=1) has a lot of followup posts by others and the author. It is from around 2001, I think. Any interventions planned might well be directed to my next-door neighbor instead, who I believe also suffers from OCD/Hoading Disorder, albeit not likely to this extent (but she did get upset when her son cleared out some stumps and old tires from her backyard).

The lady has probably not been anywhere near a doctor. If anyone were to suggest she has a problem, she would deny it vehemently. My poor husband's parents, while they were alive, were like this, though maybe not quite as bad. They got all their junk from auctions and flea markets. Chris' dad would have sooner slapped you upside the head than listen to a suggestion that he go to a doctor about what was a "normal" activity for him   It's really hard to get OCD people, like cocaine addicts, to admit they have a problem

That would also give her more room to buy more stuff!

She would probably move into the "new shed" and keep her purchases in the house.

That is udderly disgusting. I would slap that lady and put her in a strait jacket. If it was my mom i would disown her till she got rid of all that junk. Or one day i would do it and not tell her. What a pig. :silly:

I thought it looked a little like my place, except I have PVC bits and pieces, empty fish food containers, styrofoam boxes, and salt buckets everywhere..
And I don't fold my t-shirts nearly as nice as she does.

Maybe she has some fish tank stuff in that pile that she'd be selling.
