The pandemic has not affected me adversely as I have continued working through the pandemic (pulp mills were deemed essential service) but I know others have not been as fortunately as me so has it affected your time in the hobby or your tank?

Working as a police officer, I have been super busy between covid and recent world events. I still maintain my tank according to my maintenance schedule. The biggest challenge I have found is obtaining livestock, corals and CUC. My LFS in Edmonton are just starting to bring orders back in, however the increase in cost is cause for concern.
Sourcing livestock was not really an issue for me as coincidentally it was time for me to step back & let my tank get back on track. My main issue is sourcing stuff from the US as I was in the habit of getting a lot of dry stock across the border. I have to think about switching over to local bought 2-part additives for example. Also I need new lights and have to research that. I would prefer to buy local but there are so many more options down south
Anyone noticed how prices for fish/corals etc has sky rocketted since the pandemic. Mainly due to shipping costs?

After the pandemic hit the coral/fish/invert trade came to a standstill basically over night. Now that things are slowly starting up shipping is a part of the cost but now so is availability of livestock. Legal farmers and suppliers are trying to meet world wide demand and while before the pandemic it was somewhat sustainable now there are shortages of even common livestock.
It’s going to be awhile before things go back to normal and as long as there isn’t a world wide shutdown again things should go back to near normal in about a year or so.

Until now my answer would be no, but i could really use a cleaner shrimp right about now. So Covid has now affected me in this hobby for sure.
