Default Wrasse question.

Yes Wardog, I’m same question in different sub categories. Lineatus and pintail, if added at same time, ok? Resident wrasses are one-eyed Scott’s and Labouti

My Lineatus is the boss of the tank for sure. He leaves my leopard and yellow corris wrasse alone but hates my red flasher (not sure of the exact name) and when i added a Naoko it bullied it to death. I know this doesn't answer the question but for Wrasses they seem really aggressive. I know someone else who bought one from J&L and she says the same thing, its a very aggressive Wrasse. They sure are awesome though, mine is getting BIG and the color...wow....

Odd. Last Lineatus I had was a pussycat. And Naoko don't even get me started on them....I swear to god their own shadow bullies them into submission. After try #4 I have completely abandoned Naoko. My QT has a good divider, so once they get used to each other there, I also have a 2 chamber acclimation container as well for the residents to settle in and accept their presence.

Ya I mean I’ve heard yellow tangs go postal too, I’m just chiming in on my guy. He really doesn’t like other new wrasses on the block but ya never know...

So true buddy. The books and the experts say a lot of things but so much depends on the fish itself

It depends a lot on the size and gender identification of the wrasses,
2 females... not a problem,
2 sub dominant males... not a problem,
2 dominant males... expect possible issues. Greater the chance the larger they are.

Also the following will affect aggressiveness/fighting
size of the tank,
layout of liverock... can they always see each other,
availability of food.

They will jump if chased so make sure your tank can keep them in.
