Default cable internet download speeds

Using Shaw and just replaced the cable modem as downloads ended up taking forever. Since then been testing the download speeds from here and finding getting only 450-600KB/sec. Have their regular "High-Speed Internet" and as is well below the possible 5MB, wonder what others are getting?

I'm with shaw too, and lately my downloads have been ridiculously slow. Not sure what speed I'm getting, but I think I'll go check.

Man I gotta to get Shaw...I am only getting 159. Actually speed from shaw depends on how many people are on that line(sorta like party lines) ASDL is independent on the number of users on the line...just the distance from the hub

I'm with Shaw.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 3637 kbps (454.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 486 kbps (60.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

S-L-O-W ! ! !

But still faster than what I get at work.

Tried the Speakeasy site, not sure why it would be more accurate with smaller files but get downloads of 461KB/sec through Seattle and 258KB/sec with Chicago.

Still way off from the 5MB but guess comparable to others.
