Thanks for the IDs John that's awesome. Especially the FTS as I totally draw a blank when sitting in front of this thing.

Polyp extension was good again today. Kevin at RC hooked me up with a new ballast today (thanks!) in the hopes of getting my Radium to fire. It works great and the Radium is way brighter than the stock bulb and corals look even better now.

Can someone tell me if it's normal to see some tissue recession where the 2-part epoxy contacted the frag? It's maybe 1-2mm on them from the bottom. Two of them show this today but have good polyp extension and have their colors...

Quite common Brett. Probably ok, but if you see the tissue recess anymore cut the frag off above the bad part and refrag it.

When i mounted all of these I mashed the ball of epoxy into a hole/crevasse and then stuck the frags into them and sort of wrapped the epoxy around the frag's base. Is this not the best way?

Sounds OK to me. Not uncommon though, that's why I like to use superglue gel and a plug and then epoxy the plug into a spot. But in good conditions it should grow back over the base before long.

These were all on plugs and I guess I wanted a cleaner look so I cut them off and re-mounted them to my rocks. But being new to this I used so much epoxy that it's pretty ugly and maybe too much touched the tissue?

Everytime that I have ever jammed a frag into some epoxy the frag has managed to grow over the epoxy and onto the rock work. I think you'll be fine
