Default ID this coral

i think this is some sort of Acropora? got it in really rough shape and was able to stop the decay on the bottom (note the bleached base) just curious what it is.

Yes its an acropora, if you can post a larger photo we might be able to identify the species

I have one of those, looks exactly the same. I was hoping it would color up but it just stays that weird grey/brown with blue tips. No idea what it is though, sorry.

No I was joking. I don't think you are going to find anyone who can actually give you a species name. So you might as well make up your own nick name for it.

Under one of the links Christy put up there is a good read about coral IDs.

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-04/eb/index.php

There is a paragraph on acropora too. Apparently corals are really hard to ID.

Corals are like wine. You can talk alot about them but in the end, it's a simple issue: you either like it or you don't !
