Default Pods in Back Chamber Red Sea Max 130

I just cleaned out the back chamber of my Red Sea Max. It's been about 6 months since I did it last and now I have two buckets full of back chamber gunk -yellow spongy stuff, pineapple sponges and tons of pods. I want to keep the pods and get rid of the gunk. I assume I dump all. Any other suggestions?

Try putting everything in a bucket with some LR rubble, a powerhead and a heater
They will populate contact surfaces and hopefully will mostly populate the LR

Thanks Greg for your response. I used a turkey baster to siphon a good cupful out and returned them to the back chamber. Lots still back there too so all is good. I just couldn't bear to dump them ...

Good job !
I hear ya about dumping them, but you can't save them all if you're cleaning out a filter area
