Default Who's running Ecotech Radions...

Hi all,

I'm just seeing who is running Ecotech Radions on their tanks? I picked up a pair for my standard 90g and I'm trying to figure out at what height to mount them at.

It's a mixed reef tank with SPS and LPS on the mid-top levels. My T5's are currently about 4.5 inches of the surface of the water.

Also how did everyone mount them? Hanging, DIY bracing, DIY canopy, T5 and LED combo???

Thanks!!

I have picked them up for my tank but havn't got them installed yet, but all the literature I have read so far about taking par reading during testing seems to have them installed at 8"

Another thing to consider is ecotech has a mount they have made, not sure the height of it but my thinking is that would be a good place to start if you could find out the height of it.

Good luck

I'm running my ecotechs at 8 1/2 " the manual says to mount them at I think 9 " above water level. My tank is also 30" deep and they seem to light it up rather well. I'm also using the short rail kit from ecotech they bolt right on and cables are adjustable for hight they are also easy to remove for cleaning.

So 8-9in seems to be the general concenses. So I made up a mount for my lights and have only one issue... How bright they are when I'm sitting on the couch looking at my tank.

I googled Radions inside of a canopy and found some pics. Does anyone think this would be a bad on the LEDs? I thought I read somewhere that they shouldnt be inside of a closed canopy? What are everyone's thought on this??

Is there any other options? I love to sit back and watch TV and look at the tank.
