it almost looks like a snail....
though never have I seen one thats black in color

stometella snail.....harmless and beneficial....you'll see beige ones too sometimes

Stomatella alright. Never seen an almost all black before, but they come in a lot of colours.

I've got tons of black ones. Try and pick them up and their tails will come off and keep wriggling around. Gross, yet cool.

Well it might be true that the proportion of tailed to tailless stomatella snails in my fuge is rather skewed, I maintain that it was entirely due to natural causes...
