Trying to acclimate new fish to the current residents, how long should I leave the new fish in a floating basket for ??

New fish is a yellow tang
current residents: Salfin and a Scopas
they (esp the Scopas) kept chasing the poor yellow around hence i moved him to a basket hoping those 2 bullies will settle down and accept him.

I'd say just hope for the best, the basket will surely not help with the stress.

Agreed. Give them 24 hours together, usually a YT can handle itself pretty good.

Turn the lights off, feed and install a mirror on the tank window, I had 10 tangs in my 180 and had very little fighting if any. But sometimes had to leave the mirror up for a few days to a week

The scopas will see itself and think its a rival. Leavening the YT alone to fight with itself
