Default What if I put 16 led on a driver in s.o. 12

I'm thinking of adding some royal B. led's to my tank, as well as some red and green.

Now the thing is I have 4 main pendants that are build out of 2 heat sinks, so I was thinking of adding 2 of each kind of led p. heat sink

This would come down to 16 RB, 16 red and 16 green

Normally thy say, and that is what I have so far, is 12 led's per river

What would be if I have 16 led's and not 12

I can't find the info so fast, on it

I had the drivers for it

35-700 and the 60-48d

Ohh, and than one more thing

Modular led has the cree XT-E royal B at 1000ma maximum, and on other sites I se thy say thy run 1500 ma max.

I was thinking of putting the Cree XT-E RB on the 60-48D as thy can go nicely to 1100 ma, when thy would be max 1500 ma?

My advise would be talk to Martin a Modular LED and he can help you out, just email him and ask he is great to work with.

If you draw more than the recommended voltage from the driver there can be several problems. The first is that the LEDs may not run at all due to not enough power. Second you could short the driver and cause a fire, or third you can kill all the LEDs on the string. It is not recommended to run more than 12 or in some cases 14 LEDs. It's allot cheaper to buy a new driver or 2 that to replace everything.

As far as the cree xte LEDs, I run them at 1100mA. The specs sheet from cree says they can run at 1500mA. They do run very hot at 1500mA so you will probably need to run more fans to keep it cooler.
