Default How to move 8' tank?

Hey people!

So my tank will be delivered soon so I have a new problem...
How to get an 8' tank into the house?

It's gonna be delivered to the curb...
Do I just call a moving company?

Any recommendations? I suppose I'd want them to be insured?

Let me know what you guys think!

I'm both excited and overwhelmed.

Will it fit through the doorway? lol, I'm pretty sure you have measured properly.
I would definitely suggest an "insured" moving company if you don't have enough friends/ppl to help. And verify exactly what their insurance covers.

It's often quite difficult to get a moving company to do it, buy you could try. I'd probably try a piano and gun safe moving company instead because they are used to moving unusually heavy items. Ask your house insurance company, you probably have coverage there, but every moving company should have insurance. Ask about their coverage in the case of breakage or scratching. Tell them the value of your tank. Lots of people think fish tanks are cheap.

If you move it yourself/with buddies, rent or borrow some glass suction cups. That makes all the difference in the world.

I used a piano moving company. Told them the dimensions, weight, and that it couldn't get a single scratch. They were awesome and had it down the stairs and on the stand in ~10min.

Thanks for the info everyone!

Yes It'll for through the doorway.
It's going through the front double doors and will be a room divider between the family room and dining room. Needs to go up a few steps but there's no railings in place yet as we're in the midst of renos.

Sounds like I'll touch base with some piano moving companies. Probably the best option.

Roids?!?! Hahah if I were a bit younger maybe lol. When I used to lift weights I remember me and my buddy carried my 180 around the house to the back and down into the basement. But 20 years later and a couple disc surgeries and I won't even think of moving It, or asking my friends.

How do you move an 8' foot tank?

Lots of muscle and lots of care .....

Make sure the pathway is clear of all objects and it is advisable to remove any doors to give you more room and remove a potential obstacle all desks, chairs, tables and cabinets are moved out of the line as well it will save you a ton of headaches later
