Default Pods in canister filter

I have been finding copepods in my canister filter every time I clean it. I have just washed them down the sink but feel bad about it. Does anyone else find them as well and if so what do you do? I don't see them in my dt at all, I'm sure this isn't a big deal, just curious.

Don't feel bad, if your finding them in you canister, there are many, many more in your DT.

Yes, I find tons of them and lots of sponges and feather duster each time I clean my canister. I don't clean it often so it's not too bad, but each time those have recolonized the filter.

I do see them everywhere in my tank though, despite that I have 2 mandarins. Even in day light I can see them on my frags and on my rock and glass.

Thanks for the replies. I just started cleaning the canister out weekly to see if it helps get rid of the red algae I've got going on, still find quite a few in there every week. Yay!
