Default DIY - Two Part Calcium and Alkalinity

Now that my tank is up and running i've started to stock it with some SPS and LPS frags, this brought up the whole "setting up the 2 part" stage of the tank build. After reading the amount of dosing I could get myself into, I want to make life easier/cheaper.

Has anyone in the Edmonton area sourced/experienced any of the materials used in this writeup? http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2006-02/rhf/index.php

I'm thinking this stuff could be made in salt containers making it really easy to re-stock the 1 gallon jugs each couple of weeks.

I used Fauna Marin "balling salts" for a couple years, and just recently switched to Bulk Reef Supply chems which are half the price. So far so good. I use the Drew's Dosers from BRS as well. They have been working really well for 2 years now, and don't back siphon at all like some (crappy) dosers - get buy for the money. Btw, you probably will only need 2 dosers, magnesium doesn't need much dosing ime. I can maintain magnesium at 1350 ppm in my tank just by doing weekly 10% waterchanges with saltwater that I bump the mg up to 1400 ppm.
