Default What else will slow down algae?

Current parameters
PH - 8-8.2
Ammonia - 0
Nitrate - 0
Nitrate - 0
Phosphate - 0 maybe trace. can't tell with this damn color card.
Calcum - 700+

2x 250 watt 10K phoenix halides on for about 8 hours.
actinics on for around 12-14.

I have noticed that the algae I have (I think I got hair, turf, bryopsis, bubble and red bubble) the green ones are turning light green in patches and fading. but some patches are still going strong.
Manual removal is really hard because it's so dug into the rock, the rock is actually coming apart.
I have chaeto in a fuge, and an army of margarita and cerith snails. Any other snail I find dies way too quickly.
Oh and a small urchin in there.

I have a crocea clam, a bunch of Smal SPS', 2 large hammer colonies, a lot of xenia and a gbta.

what's the minimum amount of light I can give them?

RO water, no DI.
my TDS says 0 so I don't see a need for DI.

Actually can someone explain if DI does anything to water with 0 TDS?

mg is at 1400 or so. I read that too and boosted it up but I've only done that the last 2 weeks so I don't expect to see results from that yet.

Whats your stocking like , how old are your bulbs, how much flow do you have, how much do you feed, how much rock and sand do you have and are you using a mechanical filter? You are not going to get a phosphate reading because all the algae is eating it up so there is none left to check. Why is your calcium at 700+?

I haven't been checking and I top up with kalk.
It's just run away i assume. I'll let the top up run with plain RO water for a few days and let it drop a bit.
But the test kit could be wrong.

Try doing 10% water change for a week and make sure to suck most of the algae, and 48 hours without light then 3 hours only with light after, for the rest of the week.
Just my thoughts, this method works for me when i had the dino..
