There are some hopeful videos out there as well, but it always seems to be a losing battle

The guy sort of implies that he discovered fragging... haha, and here I thought I invented fragging. Oh well he can have his ego trip as long as he keeps working hard to save the reef.

The GBR series David Attenborough did this past winter covered issues with the GBR and there are scientists working on speeding up evolution for adaptability of certain coral types. Who knows if they will be able to make any progress quick enough and at the very least, there will be an impact on diversity of all types of aquatic life.

It is sad to watch this happening and it feels so inevitable given the competing interests, and human nature. Makes me want to take even better care of the small reef I have - who knows, hobbyists might be called upon in future to help repopulate the reef! I'm only half-joking.....

Yes and it is a bit ironic that our fishtanks use energy that often comes from coal or nat gas generation. Ive thought it would be nice to run some solar panels to offset that use. But they are pretty seasonal and weak at our high latitude. I still might experiment with that. Wind would be cool too but is a no go in the city.
