Default mandarin fish color

Is it normal for a Mandarin fish to change color when tank lights are off, mine changes from a nice blue to almost white dull blue color?

Mine get nearly white after the lights are out.

First time I saw my mandarins at night, I freaked out and thought they were dead.....until I saw its eyes move.

I love mine when my BLUE LED strip is on after the lights are out.. He looks so cool
