I'll do my best to keep this thread going with my preparations, purchases and the house build but the real build is a while away from now.
I have been working on my build since back in March... I won't have water till some time in August, the best builds take a while and yours looks like it's going to be one of the best . Also it will give you lots of time to look at everyone's designs and figure out exactly what kind of set-up you are going to do.
This is the "real build" my build thread started with me jacking up my house and laying some new foundation... yours is starting from the ground up... literally . A sketch-up of the floor plan and explanation of your fish room etc. would be nice... possibly a photo of the construction of your house too

You have a great start. I think the excitement(and frustration) of building a new house will help spread your mind to other things and ease the impatience of your tank build.

Okay, so here are some pics (since I know you all love them) of us unloading the tank.
I had this idea that we could plane some 2x4's down slightly and slide them into the slots in my crate base. As we would pull the crate out, we could slide another board in and a guy on each end could carry it comfortably forward.

Here's how it went:

In the third picture you can see the dolly setup that I built to hold the tank and make it manageable in my garage. Each dolly can hold about 450lbs...so 3 of them should be good to go.

One wrong step carrying that beast and it COULD have been someone's funeral! Nice thinking with the 2x4s.

That was way better organized then my move... three guys slid it down some 2" by 10"s onto a dolly (not sure what it is rated for but it still rolls nicely)...

If only being organized got the rest of my house done!!

Next up is the sump which will be ready in a couple of weeks. Another tank done by Jay so it should be awesome! His work is really amazing!
