Default Fresh Water Calcium Reactor?

Has anyone considered running their top off system through a Calcium Reactor? It strikes me that the FW would be easier to lower the pH and in doing so we could potentially see more dissolved material coming from the Ca Reactor and being dripped into the tank.

Is this a bad idea?

Bad idea. You'll have issues maintaining Alk, Ca will stay consistent but not Alk. I was contemplating on that idea when I started using CaRx until I saw the thread below. Check this thread and Randy Holmes-Farly's explanation.

I figured if it was a good idea someone would have already thought of it and put it into practice. Thanks so much for the reply
