Wow looks good and sounds like you have had some luck. I like this idea and am kicking around a 5.5, do you mind a little imitation?

Go right ahead. I did this one to illustrate how a display/refugium system works, it's intended for someone just starting out in Reefing. But, it's more than that, this system really works well. I'm not sure if the sand is working, or if the Macro is enough, but this is a super low nutrient system so far. I can feed a whole cube of frozen Rotifers, with no detectable spike/harm. The glass on the display side stays clean for a week, and in the fuge it needs to be cleaned every few days. It really does work like two different biotopes working in tandem.

Again very nice. And the design seems well thought out.

Pulsing Xenia in this Nano pumps all the time, even at night with lights out.

Did the finishing on the base.
Styrofoam on the inside.......

The bottom is from a drawer of a Coin Collectors Case, and it's some kinda velvet stuff, won't scratch furniture........

I cut the Styrofoam so that the bottom pane sits just below the edge of the base.....

Corals still doing well........

Got the top painted, but not clear coated yet. Making the lid look like Swiss Cheese has brought the temp down to 78-80.

Inside....

Outside.....
