Default suction/vacuum glass lifter

Hi everyone, does anyone have the devices that sucks to the tank for easier lifting? Need to move a 180 gallon out of a spiral stairway.

Just need it for a few hours, will offer frags to use.

Thanks.

It'd be great if someone has some to lend but if not, Princess Auto sell them fairly cheaply:

The 2-cup is good for 160 lbs and the 3 cup is good to 220 lbs.

Good luck !

You could also check with the LFS to see if they will loan or rent some to you. That what I did for my tank.

Perfect, the only other option was to rent it, but it was like $10 to rent a small one, I rather buy it for $15 and use it many times!!!

thanks everyone.

Just be careful with the Princess Auto ones...I bought a couple of them and when I tried using them to help a friend move his tank...they just wouldn't hold anywhere near what the ones he rented did. Mine came off twice during the move...good thing others had a good grip on the tank!!!

The ones I used retail for 4 or 5 hundred dollars each, so ya be careful with the $15 ones. Wouldn't want a 180 landing on my feet I know that.

Default Final thoughts

So I decided to buy the suction cups from Princess Autos, they had 3 options, 1 cup, 2 cup, 3 cup, the 1 cup one sucks good, but the handle isn't strong enough to handle the weight. didn't try the 2 cup, brought a couple of the 3 cup, now these "suckers" works really nicely, they hold well, the handles didn't look like it was going to give, moved a 180 with them, so I would recommend the 3 cup ones.

These seem to be a sturdy suction cup as well http://www.aliexpress.com/product-gs...olesalers.html

Default agree

i think those blue ones are what some folks use in a commercial setting. They look pretty heavy duty.
