Default needle for seahorse?

Just curious as where to find a small needle for a seahorse? Our male seahorse unfortunately has gas bubble sydrome, and we weren't sure where in Calgary we could find one?
As well, if there was any easier way to help relieve the air inside. We know that you can get antibiotics, but we think it'd be just as stressful to take the seahorse into the vets. Any suggestions?

Would you be able to stop at a vets and ask for one, or would a diabetic store sell you one? Pharmacy?

Thanks in advance.

Our first attempt at seahorses was 5 years ago.....same problem but we didn't know what it was until it was too late. Sorry to hear. I would stop by the vet in Montgomery (right on Bowness rd. across from Safeway) and check with them or give them a call first.

I got a couple hypodermic needles from a shoppers drug mart. Any pharmacy should have them. Be prepared to explain yourself though. You can probably figure out why.

Thanks so much everyone.
We have just been trying to burp them so far. It has helped a little so hopefully if we continue trying we won't have to go the needle aspiration route.

We will stop by a pharmacy and get some anyways though. Thanks again.

Thanks for the tip Leah. We 'burped' him, and he seems to be feeling a little better. So we're letting him rest and going to try massage #2 again tomorrow.

=) Glad to hear it helped your dwarf, we may have to try it if we can't fix him.

Picked up some hypodermic needles today from the pharmacy though. THAT was fun to explain.
