Default 180 build

well Ive set up a new 180 thats not a full peninsula but still visible from 3 sides
most of the equipment will be the same as my 250DD was
open concept
I had black sand in my 250 and really liked it so this tank will also have black sand.
I switched from IO to aquaforest salt before the 250 blew out and was happy with it so this tank will also run aquaforest
full syphon drain
full SPS
apex controller
apex auto feeder
evergrow LED 1-48" 1-16" both controllable
dosing pumps and ATO
vertex skimmer
vectra M1 return
carbon and phos reactors
Ive picked up a couple MP40 WQD today. hopefully 2 do but if not ill get either a gyre or another MP40 for the other side thats not super intrusive
WC will be pumps on switched outlets so its just basically light switches.
stand was built by my neighbor at shop in exchange for some minor gas work and cost of the high gloss.

it will be high gloss white with 4 lower doors, and both sides of the canopy will have 40-48"piano hingles for easy access.
the stand is tight to the wall and the tank is 8" off the wall for plumbing and electrical. this will also have a door for access and this will be where I have the WC pump switches.
the stand was ripped and planned down so everything is perfectly square and stained/sealed.
plywood base was siliconed so any water spillage I can clean up right away and wont get underneath and wreck my flooring.

got it plumbed today. my floor is wildly unlevel front to back, side to side is perfect. will have full length shims made and stained tomorrow. hopefully water Tuesday or Wednesday.
had the 48" light already but needed to order a 16", its ment to show up wednesday.
my black sand will be in on tuesday.
had an expensive 7 min shopping trip in JL this weekend with ordering 6 bags sand, 2 MP 40s and a few buckets of salt and some aquarium safe silicone for the bulkheads

hopefully water test goes good then ill drain it and put in sand and aquascape so hopefully I can get salt in it and start the cycle in the week after the long weekend.

I will mix the salt in my 55 Gal mixing drum and then pump it into tank as opposed to mixing in the tank. for once Im going to dry aquascape it before water

well water test went good. after that I drained it as I was going out of town for a wedding for 5 days and it made me feel better haha

So now that Im home its been filled back up and aquascape is done. Im not sure Im 100% happy with it but some minor tweaks and ill see.
its currently filled and have the 2 new MP40s and the return running, just a little murky from the sand right now when its clearer ill post some pics.

Hey bud, fixed the images that do work under photobucket. You just add ~original to the end of the .jpg extension.

Try to use Google Photos, Imgur or tapatalk instead.

Tank build looks good. That stand looks very well built, good job. I'm assuming it's a massive sump with refugium below?

Where does the backside lead to? Why not give yourself access to that back door and relocate the tank to a different wall?

OH it looks like there are half ways in your back doorway anyways. Ignore that comment.

No the only way you can see Photobucket pics is if you have an account. They are no longer a free photo host. All the years and years of Photobucket pics on Canreef (and all the other forums of the world) are no longer viewable!
