Default Baffle cuts

Hey everyone im about to order some glass to use as baffles in an old tank that I have that I am converting into a sump. My question is how much shorter then the inside measurement of the tank should i get the baffles cut? I was thinking leaving 1/16" on each side. Would that work or should i leave more room for the silicone?

Thanks

that would work....the bond would be best if silicone gets in between the tank and glass, then add some silicone on both edges and it will be perfect.
