The ice cap, Led strip light is awesome, I bought one at marine aquaria and love it. Nice and small, even lighting over the whole length. Ice cap was bought by another company now, can't remember the new name. Go get one!

Greg (Coral Master) had some really nice ones for a good price ask him. He has 2 on his 8 foot 400g so im sure one would be fine on a 3 footer.
