Default The Rappelling, Bungy & Skydive thread!

Have you ever gone rappelling, bungy'd or gone skydiving? Let's hear about it!! Any type of controlled falling counts!

Personally, I'm deathly afraid of heights, and a year ago you would never get me to climb higher than the 5th rung on a ladder!! Last year I went waaaaaaaaay over my boundaries and went rappelling on a train trestle (170 ft) which you have to stand on a platform on the side, and then kinda gently jump into the harness in the air. Not like when you go down over the edge of a cliff where you can lean into the harness before walking off the edge. Holy FFFFFF that was tough, but I knew if I didn't do it right away I wouldn't do it at all, so I did it. Not long after I went rappelling down a cliff that was 280 ft or so. It was much tougher going off the trestle!!!

I want to go Bungy jumping, and I think if I do it, I'll just go big, and go to one of the bigger ones like the Nevis jump in New Zealand. I want to go to New Zealand anyway.

No idea about the editing, but I want to try skydiving. I went rapelling years ago down a rock face locally. Fun stuff

I went skydiving...it was a freakin blast and I wanted to do it again and again and again....definitely a fun thing! I did it solo from 3000 feet but would love to do a tandem at 10,000

Ive been on both skydiving and bungy. The skydive was poorly done, for starters I let go of the plane wrong and the shoot deployed across the beack of my head injuring me, and then when it was out the risers were twisted cause the shoot was packed wrong. I almost pulled the reserve had my hands on the release and rip cord for the emergency but decided not to do it thankfully. Other than that it was a rush.

Did bunjy in New Zealand off the Kuwarua (however its spelled) bridge in central otago on the south Island. I think I prefer bunjy to skydiving although I didnt get to really experience free falling with skydiving. If I could do it over again I would of done the Nevis for sure. In the end both are worth the rush and give one a new appreciation for life when you hit the ground safe.

I've been skydiving once, tandem dive at 10000 feet was awesome, freefall for close to 45 seconds. Can't wait to do it again! Also will definately go for a bungee jump in the near future. Anything that involves adrenaline, I'm in!

I had 120 skydives before my accident(not skydive related) and 2 after.

Best jumps were over 12,000 feet over the ocean in Hawaii and 15,000 feet over Australia. I am hoping to jump again this summer.
