Default Magnet support for float switch

I have a couple of strong 1"diax1/8"thick earth magnets which I want to use to support a float switch. Anyone have ideas how to make them water proof so they don't rust? They are just electroplated as of now.

just make sure the magnet isnt to close to the switch as itll interfere with the switch
